Belinda Marchese has been appointed to the position of Executive Director, Jean Tweed Centre.

On behalf of the Board of Directors and after a comprehensive search process, I am pleased to announce the appointment of Belinda Marchese to the position of Executive Director, Jean Tweed Centre.  Belinda brings over 30 years of strategic and hands-on experience within the health, community and social services sectors. She has been inspiring team members, colleagues, external partners and key stakeholders in senior leadership roles for 15 years. Most recently, Belinda was the Executive

Director at Hospice Vaughan, which transformed and then opened a new community hub and health care facility in May 2021. Her initiative and leadership there is creating ongoing benefits for clients.

Belinda is passionate about helping to create a fresh and positive environment for women, caregivers and families.  She leads and inspires teams to build hope and enhance healing while embracing the pillars of inclusion, diversity, collaboration, and partnerships. Belinda’s personal foundation is built on a childhood spent in Africa and has been fortunate to live in five countries. The resulting unique experiences and associated travels have helped to broaden her thinking and heighten her sensitivity to the nuances of different cultures and people. Her early social work experiences included successfully taking on roles across the City of Toronto, including a decade of work with the YWCA of Greater Toronto and Kids Help Phone, both of which greatly benefited from her ideas and commitment.

In her role as Executive Director, Belinda will lead the Jean Tweed executive team consisting of:

  • Susy Cannon – Director of Finance and Operations
  • Julia Bloomenfeld – Director of Clinical Services
  • Kaela McCarney – Director of Supportive Housing Programs
  • Volletta Peters – Director of Supportive Housing Programs
  • Janice Nadin – Director of Resource Development and;
  • Connie Cheung – Director of Research, Evaluation and Quality Improvement

Belinda loves spending time with her family and her fur baby Harlee Rose, cooking homemade meals and being outdoors taking long walks or riding her new bike.
