The Jean Tweed Centre supports women in a number of supportive housing programs. Learn more about supportive housing options and how to access them below.
Addictions Supportive Housing
This program offers affordable, permanent housing across the Toronto area to women who are homeless or unstably housed and have substance use concerns. Each women works with a dedicated case manager, who provides support around substance use and related concerns.

Elm Centre Supportive Housing
The Jean Tweed Centre and the YWCA offer housing in downtown Toronto. Up to 30 self-contained units at the YWCA Elm residential building are reserved for Jean Tweed Centre clients. The Jean Tweed Centre provides onsite case management support and the YWCA provides the housing unit, housing support services and community programs. If you currently live at Elm or Winona place, you may be eligible to take part in the Jean Tweed Centre’s programs.
How to Access
Applications must be made through The Access Point. If you are already taking part in the Jean Tweed Centre’s programs, you can speak to your counsellor about a referral.
Palmerston House
This program offers shared supportive housing for one year to women and mothers of infants up to 18 months old who are dealing with challenges related to substance use. You must have a goal of substance abstinence and independent living.
How to Access
You can apply through completing and submitting this online application form. You may need to attend treatment for your substance use before you are accepted.
