A major gift is a large donation, most often given for a designated or specific purpose.

Major gifts are distinctive because their impact is immediate, direct and long-lasting. The Jean Tweed Centre is extremely grateful to the generosity of our major gift donors in supporting us. These individuals, organizations and community members are recognized through our Donor Recognition Program, which includes acknowledgement on our Reaching for the Stars Donor Wall, in our newsletter The Tweed, and with invitations to recognition and special events.
